Gentrification before people – Leave our allotments alone
More from our caring city council ” Just now, time on a waiting list for a plot in Glasgow can range from 2 to 8 years. It seems tragic that in a period when we are concerned about lack of opportunities for exercise, about food miles, about reducing carbon footprint and also about an economic recession, a group of allotments – which can help with all these issues – should be under threat.”

George Square Thursday 12: 00 Support the schools campaign. The Weavers Walk Following the trail of the Calton weavers – A walk from Glasgow cathedral to the Peoples Palace. The only thing getting in its way is the bubbly patter of the “Barras” and pockets of housing still retaining some assemblage of working class presence. The Calton – Maryhill?

The struggle for our schools, is in a way the struggle for our city.
Speaking to parents in the schools occupation in Maryhill, Glasgow, which is only 2 schools out of the 25 threatened with closure, it is difficult to describe what is happening without using words like neoliberalism – because words like democratic, representation, consultation, consensus and choice, live a million miles away from what is happening and the way decisions are arrived at in our city in general.
