On to many occasions community consultations on planning generally mean the project is down and dusted and the consultation is about finding community consensus for a done deal. Generally folk do not only want to be consulted but want to be involved in the process. They need to be involved in forming the questions not just called in to listen to the answers.
The Farmhouse is an opportunity to exercise these ideas. How do we help to form the questions, survey our neighbourhood, find the resources we need to help us plan. And importantly how do we go about presenting our own documentation, our own experts and help in sharing and articulating our own ideas for building engaged communities. Planning is a verb of conviction – not a noun of convenience.
