The Great Govan Science Shuffle Saturday 16th June, will be at Pearce Institute, Govan Cross Shopping Centre, Village Square, Legup Community Garden
The 4th annual Science Reshuffle extravaganza. A day of amazing family fun with loads of free workshops, shows, displays, and hands-on activities. Everything is free. No booking required. A colourful, captivating and dynamic event for all ages. Explore Natures Corner. Rocket Demonstrations, Make slimemuck and investigate its strange behaviour, explode a film canister, make pan pipes, balloon kebabs, climb inside a postcard. Suitable for all ages. Can be messy.
Nature’s Corner In the LegUp Garden
Solar power workshop – explore solar power with KNEX panels
Food chain mobiles – Cut out and colour mobile. All day.
Butterfly feeders – Make a butterfly feeder for your garden. All day.
Bee hotels – Make a bee hotel to encourage solitary bees. All day.
Bird of prey models – Make a bird of prey model. All day.
Oscillating Woodpecker Make a paper woodpecker, decorate it and learn a
trick to make it peck. All day.

Medical Research Council – the portrayal of health science in the media
Science Artwork from 11am Come and help the University of Glasgow team
make a giant Salmon out of natural materials to celebrate Scotland’s
amazing wildlife. Suitable for 3-5 year olds.
Make your own giant microbes furry toy – can bacteria be cuddly?
Scientifically accurate, except for size!
Wiggle Pictures – make a moving picture with an optical effect that
gives depth and motion.
Jumping beans – make your own jumping bean. make a fridge magnet
Fingerprint Key rings – record your unique fingerprint on polymorph plastic then make and take a keyring
Madlab Learn how to solder and build electronic kits to make and keep. Participants use soldering irons to construct alarms, flashing lights and music machines. Our experts help with the soldering and everyone takes a working kit home. Suitable for 8-12 year olds. KNEX Corner, A big heap of construction toys, the most KNEX you will ever have seen, and lots of ideas to design and make. Design and build towers, bridges, platform, whatever takes you imagination Suitable for 6 and older.
