When the general public start to pay more attention than lip service to democracy, the elite know they have problems and they are not going to deal with these problems by stepping back and taking a recount of how the public are treated in the unbalanced world of commerce. Rather they are going to step forward and recount how the public can be controlled by the age old device of the police.
