| The park and the gardens are part of our community environment. We can learn lots of stuff in caring for our garden that can be transferred to caring for our community. In gardening we learn about use of our time, how to prioritise time, what needs done and when it needs done – the importance of organising and sharing our workload. Inventing ways and tools for doing things, sharing skills mentoring, meeting-up, eating healthy, exercise, making friends, befriending, telling stories, building community solidarity – and much, much, more. |
Gardening is a whole educational process – not like what happens at school, but through doing things – This by far is the quickest way to learn – and unlike school you are both student and teacher. Two things that are learned quickly in the garden: 1. Nobody knows everything. 2. We all have something to learn. |
